SMITE

Mortality eSports SMITE Team had a busy 3rd week in the Hirez Studios' SMITE Pro League (SPL). For those unaware, the SPL is Hi-Rez's version of the LCS from the MOBA League of Legends.  In its own style, the SPL puts 6 professional level teams from the North American and EU regions in a multi-month season which leads up to a play-offs, and subsequently, the SMITE World Championships (SWC). The SWC is expected to deliver a seven figure prize pool after crowd-funding.

For Mortality SMITE, this week's schedule, the last one before the bye week, included four matches against some of the biggest names in eSports' SMITE teams, and after all was said and done, Mortality has taken two losses but remain the number one team in Europe with a 7-3 record:

On 10 September, in the 1st match of the week, Mortality SMITE faced Cloud 9 Hyper X. (LOSS 0-1) Watch

On 11 September, in the 2nd match of the week, Mortality SMITE faced Exposed Secrets. (WIN 1-0) Watch

On 12 September, in their 3rd match of the week, Mortality SMITE faced Team Coast. (LOSS 0-1) Watch

On 14 September, in their last and 4th match of the week, Mortality SMITE face SK Gaming. (WIN 1-0) Watch

In this past week, Mortality SMITE remained the front runner in SMITE's European SPL. Going in to the bye week, the standings remain:

Of note, on 11 September, Hi-Rez Studios updated the announcement for the 30K LAN tournament to be held during the bye week in Gavle, Sweden. Check out that announcement here.

Rico Suave has been preparing for Gaming Underground Tournament Spectacular 3 (GUTS 3). GUTS 3 is New England's premier 3 day fighting game tournament. View the announcement trailer:

Call of Duty

The 3rd week of the Perfect Alliance League Season 1  was a challenging one for Mortality COD as early in the week, Team Captain, Rumcakes, suffered an eye injury requiring immediate surgery. On Wednesday, 10 September, Mortality COD faced the budding professional roster of Team Orbit Pro with substitute SB John.  In a BO5 set Mortality COD went down the first 3 maps taking their 3rd loss of the season. The match scores can be found here. Mortality COD will look to redeem themselves in the coming week when they face the very challenging roster of eXcellence on 17 September at 10 PM EST on MLG.tv/PerfectAlliance. Mortality COD's next major scheduled event is UMG Nashville in mid October.

Super Smash Bros.

ChuDat -

This week, ChuDat competed in Project M at Smash @ Xanadu. ChuDat was able to place 3rd as he unfortunately lost his set against Mew2King and then Boss in the Loser's Finals.  At Xanadu. we brought pizzas to host a little bit of a party while everyone competed! If you are not following ChuDat's YouTube channel already, make sure to check it out and catch his new videos as they are released.

Axe -

The past week, Axe returned to the AZ ASU Weeklies to help commentate the final matches. In the meantime, Axe is still diligently preparing for his next major events.

Both of our Smashers are currently preparing for Tipped Off 10 in late September and the Big House 4 in early October. Also, with the release of Smash 4 coming soon, we'll hopefully get to see both of our Smashers competing in 3DS tournaments until the Wii-U version comes out!
