Mortality COD Prepares for UMG Dallas

Wednesday, Aug 20 2014  -   Justin Dellario

Mortality eSports Call of Duty will be competing in the upcoming UMG Dallas from August 22 to 24. The event will kick off on Friday in the Hyatt Regency Dallas, a DFW International Airport hotel. Mortality and 100+ teams will be competing on the Xbox One for a $20,000 prize pool. As with all UMG events, MLG.TV/UMG will be the streaming the event all weekend.

Coming off of recent success in the Perfect Alliance Open Qualifier, where Mortality managed to earn a spot in the Perfect Alliance League, the 53rd seed Mortality, will be battling out in the open bracket among other top amateur and rising professional teams.

We had a chance to ask Team Captain Scott 'RuMCaKeS' Ball about his mindset going in to this weekend:

“I am very excited for UMG Dallas. UMG puts on some great events, and at the last UMG event we massively under performed. I am looking forward to showing the world what we are capable of. In terms of expectations, I am going to do something different, and not set any for this event. I know in scrims we are performing very well, and we just recently qualified for the pA league So our results should speak for themselves. We are pretty confident going in."

The remaining roster for Mortality COD at UMG Dallas includes: Tommy 'Zcuz' Duong, Ryan 'Rayge' Rusch, and AJ 'Atlas' Andrada.  Of note, this will be the first outing for 'Atlas' since replacing Sam 'Samzorz' Hall in late July. 'Samzorz' has taken a behind the scenes role with Mortality eSports while handling family matters and long awaited move to California! "We are more than confident in Atlas's ability perform," said Mortality eSports Owner and Managing Director, Justin Dellario.
